Kidnapped Anambra Legislator Found Dead Weeks After Abduction

The decomposing body of Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North Constituency 1, was discovered by a combined security team on the 2nd Niger Bridge.

Azuka had been abducted on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunapampa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha.

Following weeks of investigation, security operatives from Abuja apprehended the suspects late Wednesday.

The arrested individuals led authorities to the location where they had disposed of the lawmaker’s remains.

The spokesperson for the Anambra Police Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that details would be disclosed to the public soon.

This tragic incident mirrors a similar occurrence in 2022, when Okechukwu Okoye, another member of the Anambra House of Assembly, was abducted and subsequently beheaded.

His body was later found around the Nnobi area of the state.
