Suspended RCCG Pastor Iluyomade Launches New Ministry, 'The Family Fellowship'

Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, the former senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s (RCCG) City of David Parish, has officially started a new ministry named The Family Fellowship. 

The ministry’s inaugural service was held on Sunday at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, and was marked by jubilation, singing, and dancing.

Announcing the launch via his Instagram page, Iluyomade extended an open invitation to the public. “The Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lord’s presence. Promises to be a great experience,” he wrote.

Iluyomade's decision to establish a new ministry follows his suspension by RCCG in 2024. The suspension stemmed from a controversy involving his wife’s 60th birthday celebration, which took place shortly after the passing of a prominent church member, Herbert Wigwe. 

The RCCG Governing Council conducted an investigation into the matter, leading to Iluyomade’s three-month suspension and subsequent reassignment to worship at the church’s headquarters.
