Governor Ademola Adeleke has received overwhelming support for his second term at the 2025 annual inter-religious prayer program held at the Osun State Government Secretariat.
The event, attended by clerics, traditional rulers, workers, and other stakeholders, featured prayers and testimonies highlighting the governor’s achievements.
Religious leaders took turns praising Governor Adeleke’s leadership. Sheikh Musa Animasahun, President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Osun State, said, “The good delivery of services by Governor Adeleke has ordained him by God for a second term.” He urged the public to support the governor for continued progress in Osun State.
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), led by Comrade Christopher Abimbola Arapasopo, also endorsed the governor. “Governor Adeleke has shown expensive attention to workers and pensioners. His commitment to our welfare is unmatched, and we wholeheartedly support his second term,” Arapasopo stated, accompanied by singing and dancing from union members.
Market leaders joined the chorus of endorsements. Chief Oyebode Mary, Iyaloja-General of Osun State, noted, “The ease of doing business and other achievements under Governor Adeleke have transformed our markets. We stand with him for another term.”
Former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, speaking at the event, reiterated his earlier endorsement. “Nobody changes a medication and medicine that is working. Mr. Governor’s medicine is working for Osun people, and so he will continue for a second term,” he said in Yoruba, drawing applause from attendees.
The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, concluded the session with a special prayer. “The performance of the governor is his best prayer. Only a clean heart dances, and where they dance, good things happen. Great things are happening to Osun, and we are all rejoicing,” the monarch declared.
In his address, Governor Adeleke expressed gratitude to God and the people. “Our prayers were answered fully by Almighty God. At every moment of the way, our government puts God and the people as a point of takeoff and return,” he said.
The governor highlighted his administration’s commitment to good governance. “We recorded a superlative performance which even our opponents cannot deny. There is the evident hand of God in state decisions. We will continue to serve the people diligently and faithfully,” Adeleke added.
He urged religious and traditional leaders to spread the message of his administration’s dedication to service. “Let the message go to the grassroots that this government is ever dedicated to serving the people. We call on leaders of thought to rally round the administration as we continue to pursue pro-people policies and programs,” he said.
Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing infrastructure development and the welfare of all citizens. “In 2025 and beyond, we will not be found wanting in service delivery. Soft infrastructure will top our agenda alongside ongoing hard infrastructure upgrades,” he concluded.
