Ogun State to Prioritize Inclusive Development in 2025, Says Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has assured residents of his administration's commitment to fostering an economy that promotes growth, equity, and resilience through sustainable development plans. 

The governor emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence as essential tools for progress and prosperity in his New Year address to the people.

"As we journey together in 2025, let us continue to come together as one, with a renewed sense of purpose, regardless of our differences, and work towards the betterment of our beloved state," Governor Abiodun stated.

He called on the people to reflect on their shared responsibilities and approach the new year with hope and determination. “This New Year is an opportunity for us to remind ourselves of our duties to one another. Let us strive to make Ogun State a beacon of progress, development, and prosperity,” the governor said.

Governor Abiodun highlighted the strides made by his administration in various sectors, including road construction, affordable housing, youth and women empowerment, qualitative healthcare, and food security. He further pointed out achievements in transportation, security, education, and energy, noting that his government continues to address the state's pressing challenges.

"In the energy sector, with the recent constitutional amendments allowing states to regulate electricity, Ogun State has passed the Electricity Law. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has transferred regulatory oversight to the Ogun State Electricity Commission (OGERC), enabling us to generate, transmit, and distribute power independently," he announced.

The governor acknowledged the role of the ISEYA mantra as the foundation of his administration's developmental efforts. "The ISEYA mantra has been our guiding compass, helping us enhance growth across all sectors. While we have made significant progress, we recognize there is still more to be done," he remarked.

Governor Abiodun pledged to sustain the momentum, ensuring inclusivity and deliberate actions in addressing issues like unemployment, economic realities, and inadequate social amenities.

"Despite numerous challenges, both as a government and as individuals, God's mercies have seen us through. It is my sincere prayer that this new year brings improved living conditions for all and ushers in further development for our dear state," he said.

Reflecting on the past year's achievements and challenges, the governor praised the resilience and unity of Ogun State residents. "Through acts of kindness, community initiatives, and the tireless work of public servants, we have proven that standing united makes every challenge surmountable. As we embrace 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering progress and prosperity for every resident," he added.

Governor Abiodun concluded by urging citizens to embrace the year with renewed hope and a collective resolve to achieve greater milestones. "Our vision for prosperity is rooted in a robust, diversified economy capable of navigating current challenges. Together, we can make Ogun State a model of development and opportunity for all," he affirmed.
