The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the conduct of the 2023 and 2024 promotion exercises for civil and public servants across the state.
This decision will benefit 26,764 workers, including junior, senior, and management-level staff across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The promotion exercises, designed to enhance career progression, will involve oral interviews as the sole assessment method.
Eligible workers from the core civil service, government secondary and primary schools, state-owned boards, corporations, and agencies—including the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH)—are all covered under this initiative.
The Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, in a statement, emphasized that the Governor also approved the December 2024 edition of the combined confirmation/promotion tests and the compulsory public service examinations for senior and junior cadre officers.
These tests, organized by the Bureau of Establishments and Training, aim to support the career progression of qualified officers.
“Governor Abiodun’s approval for the conduct of these promotion exercises reflects his unwavering commitment to the welfare, morale, and professional growth of Ogun State’s workforce,” Onasanya remarked.
The Head of Service lauded the Governor for his numerous worker-friendly policies, describing them as instrumental in enhancing the well-being and career development of public servants.
He called on workers to remain dedicated to their duties, noting that the administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda continues to prioritize their welfare.
“This approval is yet another demonstration of the Governor’s resolve to uplift the morale and career trajectories of our teeming workforce,” Onasanya added.
