Owaloko Calls for Unity, Togetherness During Christmas Celebration

The Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Benjamin Ogungbangbe, has shared a heartwarming Christmas message with the sons and daughters of Iloko Ijesa, both within Nigeria and abroad.

As the Rotational Vice President of the Osun State Council of Obas and Chairman of the Ijesa North Council of Obas, he expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the people for their steadfast support throughout the year.

In a statement issued by his media team, Oba Ogungbangbe called for greater unity, love, and compassion during this festive season. He urged all to act as brothers' and sisters' keepers, stressing that such solidarity is vital to the community’s continued success.

"Unity is our strength, and love is the bond that holds us together," the monarch said, emphasizing the need for peace within the Iloko Ijesa community.

He encouraged everyone to embody the spirit of togetherness, quoting a well-known Iloko Ijesa song, “Omo ÃŒlokò òkàn la fo rí se,” which means, “Iloko children succeed in unity.”

The Owaloko urged all indigenes to use the Christmas period as an opportunity to reflect on their shared values and to promote unity within their community. "Where there is unity, there is peace, and where there is peace, progress follows," he noted.

As the year draws to a close, Oba Ogungbangbe concluded his message by wishing all a joyful Christmas filled with love, happiness, and blessings.

He also offered prayers for continued prosperity for Iloko Ijesa in the upcoming year.
