One Dead, Two Injured in Lagos-Badagry Expressway Collision

A fatal accident occurred on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway near the Jackos Filling Station in the Ola Oki Hospital area on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the death of one person. The incident, which took place at approximately 12:38 PM, also left two others injured.

Williams Manga, the Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Badagry Command, confirmed the accident in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria. He explained that the crash involved a commercial truck (registration number AAA 541 YL), a Bajaj motorcycle (without registration), and a Lexus SUV (registration number BDG 428 DW). The collision led to a pileup of two vehicles and a motorcycle.

“Upon arrival at the scene at 12:41 PM, just minutes after receiving the distress call, it was found that ten individuals, including eight men and two women, were involved in the incident,” Manga said. “Sadly, an adult male died at the scene, while two others were taken to the nearby Ola Oki Hospital for treatment.”

The FRSC unit coordinated traffic control measures to ensure smooth movement along the expressway, as the accident caused significant disruption to vehicular flow. Manga appealed to motorists to exercise caution while driving along the expressway to prevent further accidents.

The body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives, who transported it away from the scene.
