Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced the appointment of Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo as his Chief of Staff. Dr. Taiwo, who previously held the position of Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) to the Governor, assumes this new role with immediate effect.
In a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the Governor formally presented Dr. Taiwo with his appointment letter on Wednesday. The appointment is said to have taken effect from December 18, 2024.
Governor Abiodun lauded Dr. Taiwo's contributions, describing the appointment as "well deserved" and emphasizing his confidence in Taiwo’s ability to excel in his new responsibilities.
During the Governor's first term, Dr. Taiwo served as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism before being elevated to Deputy Chief of Staff, a role he held until his latest promotion.
An alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr. Taiwo earned a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and went on to pursue advanced degrees, culminating in a Ph.D.
Speaking on the appointment, Hon. Kayode Akinmade noted, "Dr. Taiwo’s elevation reflects the Governor’s trust in his dedication and capacity to drive the administration’s goals forward."
With this appointment, Dr. Taiwo is expected to oversee strategic administrative functions and provide support to ensure the Governor’s vision for Ogun State is achieved.
