Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has signed the N1.054 trillion 2025 State Appropriation Bill into law. The signing ceremony, held at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, was attended by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, principal officers of the House, the Deputy Governor, and members of the State Executive Council.

In his remarks, Governor Abiodun unveiled ambitious plans for the coming year, including the development of the Olokola Sea Port. “It is my pleasure to announce that next month, we will sign the partnership agreement with potential partners for our port development. The Olokola Port is back on track,” he said.

The Governor outlined his administration’s focus on infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, and healthcare to spur socio-economic growth. He emphasized that more Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) would be signed with private sector players to boost the state’s economy.

“We will prioritize renewable energy, energy transition, and agriculture, particularly animal husbandry. Ogun State aims to join the league of states producing beef and pork not just for local consumption but also for export. We are determined to continue providing the necessary infrastructure and creating a conducive environment for our students and healthcare systems at all levels,” he noted.

Governor Abiodun highlighted the strategic importance of arterial roads like Ijebu-Ode-Epe, Sagamu-Abeokuta, Atan-Lusada-Agbara, Ota-Abeokuta, and Ilaro-Owode roads in improving the state’s Internally Generated Revenue. “These roads have attracted more industries and residents, contributing significantly to our state’s growth,” he said.

The Governor addressed the difficulties faced by citizens due to the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He assured residents that his government remains committed to providing palliatives to cushion the effects.

“It has been a challenging year for us as a state and as a country. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bold reforms have brought unintended hardships, but they are necessary to secure a solvent and prosperous Nigeria. We remain resolute in our efforts to support our people through these times,” he added.

Governor Abiodun commended the State House of Assembly for its prompt passage of the budget, highlighting the diligent collaboration between the legislative and executive arms. “Your dedication to your constituents and the state is commendable. Together, we have achieved remarkable progress,” he said.

Earlier, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, lauded the governor for his commitment to infrastructure development, including the facelift given to the Assembly Complex. He noted that the prompt passage of the budget was unprecedented, ensuring the continuity of the state’s progress.

“We promised the Governor during the presentation of the budget on December 4th that we would ensure its passage before Christmas. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to the people of Ogun State,” Elemide said.

He pledged continued collaboration with other arms of government to ensure the people enjoy the dividends of democracy.
