Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a frontline aspirant for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, has declared her intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives, promising to drive development and inclusive governance in the constituency.
Adeleye unveiled her ambition on Thursday at a gathering of party executives and stakeholders in Ajuwon/Akute Ward 6, Ifo Local Government Area, where she pledged to deliver purposeful leadership and inclusive development.
Addressing party faithful, the aspirant said her decision to begin her consultations from her ward was deliberate, describing it as a reflection of her strong connection with the grassroots.
“I am glad this is a gathering of our party leaders, grassroots mobilisers, youth groups, women leaders, and critical stakeholders united by a shared belief in purposeful leadership,” she said. “This marks the birth of a renewed vision.”
She described her ambition as a call to service, noting that it was driven by responsibility and the need to respond to the yearnings of the people for effective representation.
According to her, the constituency deserves leadership that understands its diversity and economic potential.
“The constituency, being dynamic in nature, deserves leadership that understands its complexities, and I am prepared to harness its strengths for sustainable growth,” she added.
Adeleye, who also appreciated Dapo Abiodun for the opportunity to serve in the state cabinet, commended ongoing infrastructural development in the area, particularly road projects in Ajuwon/Akute.
She said her agenda would focus on economic empowerment, job creation, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises, especially for youths and women.
She added that vocational training and investment in local industries would form a key part of her legislative priorities if elected.
Adeleye also promised to ensure responsive and participatory representation, maintaining that constituents would be carried along in decision-making processes.
In attendance at the event were party leaders, including the Local Government Chairman, Oduwole Olumide, and an Ogun Central Senatorial aspirant, Otunba Muraina Banjoko, alongside other stakeholders.
