So-Safe Corps Boosts Security for Festive Season, Urges Public Vigilance

The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has announced intensified security measures to safeguard lives and property during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. The initiative is designed to protect residents, visitors, and commuters across the state.

In a statement by the State Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, the Corps called on community stakeholders, including landlords, landladies, religious leaders, and traditional rulers, to prioritize security awareness and educate their communities. “The festive period requires everyone to be more vigilant. Security is a shared responsibility, and we must all work together to ensure a peaceful celebration,” Ganzallo stated.

The special operation, which began on December 15, 2024, will run until January 10, 2025, focusing on eliminating criminal activities such as cultism, robbery, theft, "one chance" scams, and kidnapping. Officers and personnel have been directed to increase surveillance and enforcement efforts across Ogun State.

Commander Ganzallo also reaffirmed the Corps' commitment to collaborating with the Nigeria Police and other sister agencies to maintain peace and security. “Our mission is to create a secure environment for all law-abiding citizens,” he added.

The Corps urged the public to report suspicious activities promptly and provided hotlines for emergencies:
