Nigeria’s Woes Are Self-Inflicted – Pastor Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has attributed most of Nigeria's problems to self-inflicted issues, emphasizing the need for sincere and transparent leadership.

Adeboye made this observation while addressing journalists after his ministration at the Hallelujah Mega Praise, Season 3, held at Province 4, Shimawa, Ogun State.

Represented by the National Overseer Emeritus, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, he stated that Nigeria possesses abundant human and mineral resources, but the lack of integrity and commitment among leaders has hindered the nation’s progress.

“If corruption and bribery are eradicated, and if leaders demonstrate sincerity, faithfulness, and determination, Nigeria’s problems can be solved. The resources are there, but what we need is a shift in leadership mindset,” Pastor Obayemi quoted Adeboye as saying.

Adeboye also expressed concern over the recent stampedes for food palliatives, calling on Nigerians to place their trust in God for divine favor. He urged political leaders to put an end to corruption and focus on the welfare of the people.

In his remarks, Pastor Felix Ikumapayi, the pastor-in-charge of Province 4, highlighted the transformative power of praise in overcoming Nigeria’s economic and social challenges. He encouraged citizens to devote time to worship, noting that such acts could bring divine intervention.

“When you consider the problems facing Nigeria, taking time out to praise God can bring renewal and hope. It allows us to forget our challenges momentarily and connect with God’s solutions,” Ikumapayi remarked.

He further stated, “The hardship affects everyone, but through praise, we can find direction and divine connections to those with the answers to our challenges. However, the government must play its part by being more transparent and accountable.”
