The outgoing Global President, Wole Adeosun (FCIA), reflected on his tenure and commended members for their unwavering support. Highlighting the association’s achievements, he emphasized the significant strides made, including creating awareness, drafting the ACHSOSAN constitution, and facilitating numerous developmental projects.
He noted that the stage is now set for the incorporation of the association with the inauguration of the Board of Trustees (BOT).
During his speech, Adeosun acknowledged key projects completed during his leadership. These include the construction of classrooms, solar-powered streetlights, and borehole water systems by various sets and individual alumni.
He expressed optimism about the association’s future under the new Global President, Comrade Moruf Kolawole Yusuf (Ojogbon).
The election, conducted under the supervision of Electoral Committee Chairman Dr. Morounfolu Kuye, saw Comrade Moruf Yusuf Kolawole emerge as the new Global President with 62 votes, defeating Adegbite Adeyinka, who garnered 40 votes.
Other elected officers include Global Vice President Egbeyemi Teslim, Global Secretary Akindele Jamiu Akeju (unopposed), Assistant Secretary Adesina Balikis (74 votes), PRO 1 Sopade Olawale (unopposed), and Treasurer Ola Folayimi.
In his acceptance speech, Yusuf thanked all delegates who participated in the election for their unwavering support and confidence in his leadership abilities. He also extended his appreciation to his opponent, Adeyinka Adegbite, for conducting a spirited campaign, describing it as a demonstration of the unity and vibrancy within ACHSOSAN."This victory is not just for me; it is for every member of ACHSOSAN, home and abroad," Yusuf said. He emphasized that the association's strength lies in its collective efforts and shared vision for progress. He pledged to work tirelessly to advance the goals of ACHSOSAN, ensuring that every member feels included and empowered in the association's initiatives.
The newly elected president acknowledged the efforts of past presidents and executives in building a strong foundation for ACHSOSAN. "Their visionary leadership and commitment have brought us this far, and I am determined to build on their legacy," he stated.
Yusuf also called on members to remain united and committed to the association's growth, promising to prioritize inclusivity, innovation, and excellence during his tenure.Speaking further, Yusuf assured members that his administration would focus on expanding the association's influence both locally and globally. He highlighted the importance of collaboration, urging members to contribute their ideas and energy towards achieving the collective vision of ACHSOSAN.
In a call to action, Yusuf stated, "Let us come together, united in purpose, to make ACHSOSAN a model of progress and impact. With your support, we can overcome any challenges and create a brighter future for our association."
He concluded his speech by expressing gratitude to his family, friends, and supporters, whose encouragement and belief in his leadership made his victory possible. Yusuf reiterated his commitment to serving with integrity, passion, and dedication, assuring members that their trust in him would not be misplaced.The AGM also featured the inauguration of the Board of Trustees (BOT), chaired by Rt. Hon. Kolawole Lawal Mobolorunduro. Other prominent members of the BOT include Rt. Hon. Abiodun Ishaq Akinlade (Vice Chairman), Pastor Wole Adeosun, and Barr. Segun Olaotan.
During his inauguration, Akinlade pledged to oversee the full construction of the ACHSOSAN Office Complex, promising that the keys would be handed over at the next AGM.
