Rolan Foundation has delivered one thousand isolation gowns to key health institutions in Ibadan in a renewed effort to improve infection control and enhance the safety of frontline medical workers across Oyo State. The initiative was carried out with support from the Catholic Medical Mission Board, CMMB.
The distribution covered three major health centres. The team first visited the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, where the State Epidemiologist, Dr Iyabo Kareem, and the Head of Laboratory, Mr Bello, received the items from Solomon Adewole, the Rolan Foundation Ibadan Branch Coordinator.
Dr Kareem described the donation of four hundred isolation gowns as timely and important to the daily work of health workers who handle infectious diseases.
She conveyed appreciation on behalf of the Commissioner for Health, relevant stakeholders and the Oyo State Government.
At Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, the Chief Hospital Administrator, Mrs Muraina, welcomed the Foundation’s delegation and thanked the team for the donation of another four hundred isolation gowns to the Tuberculosis, Leprosy and HIV units.
She said the support will improve the safety and capacity of the hospital’s maternal and neonatal care services.
The final distribution was at the Nigerian Medical Association Secretariat in Ibadan, where the General Secretary, Dr Tobi Bright, represented the NMA Chairman to receive two hundred isolation gowns.
He commended both Rolan Foundation and CMMB for standing with doctors who work under high-risk conditions, noting that the items will help reduce occupational hazards across the state.
The Assistant National Coordinator of the Foundation, Mrs Adenike Sanusi, said supporting healthcare workers remains central to the organisation’s mission of improving community well-being.
She thanked CMMB for its continued collaboration and restated the Foundation’s commitment to strengthening public health systems and protecting those on the frontline.
Rolan Foundation said the distribution reflects the power of effective partnerships in addressing healthcare gaps. It added that the isolation gowns will enhance infection prevention protocols and reinforce the resilience of medical teams in Oyo State.
