Tinubu’s Minister Hails Adeleke’s Performance, Seeks Partnership on Tourism, Culture

The Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Honourable Hannatu Musa Musawa, has praised Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, for what she described as remarkable and people-focused development strides across the state.

Musawa made the commendation on Friday during a high-level meeting with the Governor, where discussions centred on strategic collaboration between the federal ministry and Osun State in the areas of art, tourism, cultural promotion and the creative economy.

“Osun people, you are lucky to have this hardworking leader as your Governor. He is truly a performing governor,” the Minister said after the meeting.

She highlighted several upcoming federal initiatives, including a national register of tourism spots, tourism promotion through airports, and the launch of a national unity song to be led by global music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

According to her, Osun plays a vital role in Nigeria’s cultural landscape, being home to some of the nation’s most iconic traditions, historical festivals and creative talents.

“We are elated for this emerging partnership between my ministry and the Osun State Government. This will be consolidated during the meeting of the National Council on Arts and Culture to be held on a date to be announced soon,” Musawa said.

In his response, Governor Adeleke appreciated the Minister’s commendation and assured of his government’s readiness to deepen collaboration with federal agencies.

“I welcome this partnership with the federal ministry. Osun has enjoyed deep relationships with several federal ministries and agencies. We are building on that and we take this planned deal with the Ministry of Creative Economy very seriously,” Adeleke stated.

The Governor revealed that his administration had signed several partnerships, including one with the British Museum during his recent visit to the United Kingdom, all targeted at strengthening the state’s cultural and creative sectors.

“It will be our honour to host the national council meeting at an agreed date,” he concluded.
